Monrovia Art in Public Places Committee
In 2004 the City Council established chapter 15.44 Art in Public Places in the Monrovia Municipal Code. This chapter requires residential development projects involving four or more dwelling units and a cost greater than $1 million to allocate a fee of 1% of the project cost to be paid to the City or applied to art work.
The Art in Public Places Committee acts as an advisory body to the City Council and reviews each application for the installation of a public artwork before making a recommendation to the City Council. To learn more, click here.
The Committee is actively soliciting proposals for utility box painting around the city. You can download the official Utility Box Painting Application here and submit it to the Committee for consideration.
