Legacy Ceramics Workshop Delights Seniors at The Manor at Santa Teresita

Smiles and  concentration filled the cafeteria of The Manor at Santa Teresita in Duarte on July 6: MAFA provided a Legacy Ceramics art workshop for 40 residents, funded through a grant from the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley (VCSGV) and supported by Paint ‘n’ Play Art Studio of Monrovia.

The budding artists created personalized legacy handprint plates with instruction from Lisa Barrios, owner of Paint ‘n’ Play, assisted by three volunteers from VCSGV.  After the session, Lisa and her helpers transported the plates to Paint ‘n’ Play for kiln firing. The seniors will receive their finished plates back on July 21.

The Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley connects volunteers and their abilities to serve in the community by identifying needs, creating programs and volunteer opportunities, recruiting and placing volunteers in the San Gabriel Valley. www.vcsgv.org
