Without you, MAFA could not impact the community in the ways that it has done.  Since 2004, MAFA has been able to contribute over $50,000 to the students of Monrovia for art education.  Our members developed an after school art curriculum for use by the MUSD Village After School Program today. MAFA has also participated in the Foothill Unity Center's "Back to School" event bringing art to hundreds of underprivileged children.  We have provided art classes for the Santa Anita YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, and senior groups and have provided funding towards an in-school art teacher at Wildrose Elementary.  Our commitment to the community and its children is what drives MAFA members.

Throughout the year, MAFA stages several events to provide opportunities for member artists to display and as a result to raise funds for art education in our schools.  Our biggest event is the 2-Day October Art Show - "Celebrate the Arts", a Festival of Fine Arts Event.  To organize and oversee such an event requires the work of many behind-the-scenes helpers.  These tasks are very important for the event to be a success for MAFA as well as the attending artists.  This is where you come in!  MAFA needs you.  We are grateful for any time and talent you have to give.  We realize that your time is a precious commodity, so if all you can so spare is an hour or two, we will graciously accept it.  It is through your involvement that MAFA can make a lasting impact on the community.

Information about Palette Grants:  In addition to to annual donation to the After School Art Program, MAFA also sets aside funds and invites individual schools, school PTA groups, and non-profit groups to apply for smaller "palette grants" to be used exclusively for some kind of art education program.  Applications are accepted throughout the year but MAFA needs at least 3 months to review and approve each palette grant application.
