Artists who join MAFA have the opportunity to exhibit their work at our annual Monrovia Art Festival & ChalkFest. This is one of the largest events of its kind in Southern California and has been a Monrovia tradition for more than 50 years. In addition, you have the opportunity to attend our professional development workshops. MAFA artists also teach workshops for local students and serve as mentors.
MAFA is a professional community. To join, artists must be juried in by submitting photos of three representative pieces of their work to Frank Zgonc, Jury Chairperson, at firstname.lastname@example.org along with a one-time $25 jury fee (or $15 for students).
Please read the Jury Criteria before submitting your work.
Once you are a member, we require $35 annual membership dues. Student artists pay $15 a year as long as they are enrolled in a high school or college program.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST TO BECOME A MEMBER!
We have Volunteer Memberships available at the same level as an Artist Membership. You will receive all the benefits of being an artist member and we will acknowledge your name on this site. You’ll receive our newsletters, invitations, correspondence and opportunities, plus the benefit of knowing that you have contributed to a growing, highly esteemed arts organization and are supporting arts education in the region.
